"Hypocras Cup": Pear, Spices

Hypocras wine has been found in Europe since medieval times.
While the wines served were often bad and unpleasant to drink, the wealthier ones could afford to add different spices and flavors to make them better.
It contained, among other things, honey, fruit, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom...
These are the same spices that are found today in hot ciders and apple juices.
These additions to the wine, then called "hypocras wine", were symbols of wealth and abundance, or even of royalty, since the spices had to be imported from the ends of the earth.
